It’s Carnival time!

The spectacular Caldmore and Palfrey Carnival procession will be bringing its rich pageant of colour to the festival again this year.

Carnival workshops will be taking place throughout the the festival from 1pm to and then will be setting off from the festival site at 3.15 pm. You can either come and make your own costume or wind sock or come colourfully dressed ready to take part.

The procession will be lead by the amazing Makanitza who will be playing a rich mix of Roma influenced processional  music.

We will be stopping off in Caldmore Green at 3.40 for a few minutes so you can come and join us there or just come along and listen and watch as the spectacular pageant passes through.

We will be getting back to the park by 4.15 pm when Makanitza will take the stage for a rip roaring set!

So come on down, join the Carnival and make some noise!!

It was rather wet, to be fair…

It was rather wet, to be fair…

The Express and Star sent a reporter and photographer on Saturday. When it rained all day.
Never mind, a few hardy souls still turned up and made the most of it.

We could have wimped out and cancelled, but no!
We showed dogged perseverance.
We showed determination.
And we showed we weren’t going to let a drop of rain get in the way.

Well done and thank you, if you’re one of ones who came along and got wet with us.
