Community Clean Up!

Make a difference to your local community and help keep Caldmore Tidy.

Saturday 1st October 2011

10:30am – 1pm meeting @ Bath Street Centre, Caldmore, Walsall, WS1 3DB

Come and join us for the 5th Caldmore Clean-Up! Meeting at the Bath Street Centre for registration, collection of pickers and high-vis vests not forgetting to order the all important lunch! The tidy up will start from 11am.

A free lunch will be provided at the Bath Street Centre to all volunteers. Tea will also be provided throughout the event at IN TOUCH Mobile 43 Brace St, Caldmore.

Shop or Business Frontage competition 2011

We want Caldmore to look its very best for this years Village Festival at the end of May.  So we’re running a competition for the best business or shop frontage in the area.  The winner will receive a plaque for display on their premises and be featured in local press.

You can nominate yours or a neighbouring shop for the Caldmore Top of the Shops competition.  The only criteria is that the shop or business must be in Caldmore.

Des Res – Front Garden Competition 2011

We want Caldmore to look its very best for thisyearsVillageFestival at the end of May.  So we’re running a competition for the best front garden in the area.  

First prize is £100 Runners up prizes of £25

You can nominate yourself, a relative, neighbour, or friend for the Caldmore Des Res competition.  The only criteria is that the entrant must live in Caldmore.

Graphic Designer Wanted

The Caldmore Village festival wants to have a coherently branded look for all its communications, be it posters, flyers, bus adverts, advertising banners, not forgetting the all important main Programme which consisted of 32 pages last year, including  adverts, timetables and also venue maps !

We are looking for a local high quality graphic designer who may have layout skills, who is able to supply us with a design scheme to reflect our multicultural festival. They must be able to work quickly and to exacting deadlines, being able to turnaround ideas and provide finished artwork for all sorts of events planned within our programme.

We potentially have a budget of £1,500 – £2,000 from which to work with and are hoping for an interested party to work closely with the festival co-ordinating team.

Do you want to help put on a Festival?

Caldmore Village Festival is looking for a volunteer to work along side our co-ordinating team to help organise this year’s Festival.  This is an exciting opportunity learn new skills and to gain inside Knowledge about what goes into putting on a large event involving music, arts and sport.

 The Person we are looking for….

  • Will have Knowledge of the local Community
  • Will have a few hours free each week which they can dedicate to the festival
  • Will have lots of enthusiasm for putting on community events
  • Will be good at talking to people

No experience necessary.  We will train you and support you.  And you will get to work along side our organising team gaining insight and knowledge about how to put on a community festival.

What you will have to do…

Depending on your experience you may end up doing anything from organising activities to helping to deliver leaflets.  Putting on a community festival involves lots of skills and if you have a background in organising events in your local community or would like to learn how, then you may be the person we are looking for.  You will particularly have the opportunity to learn about event management and event promotion.

What you will get from working with us…

Although we cannot pay you we will guarantee you will not be out of pocket from working with us.  You will have the chance to gain new skills and experience in putting on community events. Most importantly you will be part of a team and get to express your ideas about what needs to happen.
