What a great turn out for the Taste of Caldmore Dinner Dance at Five Rivers A La Carte in Walsall. A few pics of the evening, more to follow!
A huge thanks goes out to Mr Ali Mahmood, Executive Committe member and local trader, for organising this sell out event. Also big thanks to the live entertainment, local businesses, Five Rivers A La Carte for great venue & food, and of course our wonderful guests!
What an absolutely cracking launch to this year’s Caldmore Village Festival. The Bath Street Centre hosted our launch party to a ram-packed sell out crowd – next year we may have to sell ‘standing only’ tickets!!!
The evening kicked off with the traditional ‘loading of the plates’ buffest style followed by a fantastic performance by Caldmores own Bath Street Band. The rest of the evening continued onwards and upwards with further outstanding musical performances by Malik Raof and Malik Razak, Dean Janjua, and Snooty Bobs. With dancing from S and J Stars Dance school and stand up from Dave Shakespeare plus more ‘loading of the plates’ the evening proved to be a feast for the senses.
What a fantastic atmosphere – and a fantastic start to the year!

The Balti Site restaurant, venue for the second ‘A Taste of Caldmore’ music and food event, has just reopened next door to its last place of trading on Caldmore Road. It is now called Balti Spice and is open from 5.30pm 6 days a week ,closed mondays(not bank holidays!
The Festival Events Committee is reorganising the second ‘A Taste of Caldmore’ event with a jazz ensemble playing sometime in March. This top notch band, from the organiser of the Upton-on-Severn Jazz Festival, will be playing in our newest local restaurant – back from the flood!
This is a larger venue and as the last ‘A Taste of Caldmore’ event was fully booked, yet postponed, we are expecting to sell this one out very quickly too.
Dates to be confirmed – Watch This Space!
