The Strolling Stories team are just putting the final touches to the The Journey Home, the play by local playwright, David Calcutt which will form the centre piece for this years Caldmore and Palfrey Carnival procession on Monday the 26th of May. A larger than life performance with large scale puppets, colourful costumes and music composed by the former Stone Roses guitarist, Aziz Ibrahim. The Performance starts in Caldmore Community Garden, in Carless Street, next to Caldmore School and gets acted out as part of the Carnival Procession as it makes it way through Caldmore and Palfrey before ending up in Palfrey Park.
Come and join in the fun! It is free! Assemble in Caldmore Community Garden at 1.30 pm, Monday 26th of May. The action starts at 2.00 pm and the carnival moves off at about 2.15pm. There are mini performances on the way and we will end up by the main stage of the festival at about 3.15pm. Come dressed as a character from your favourite story – or come as you are, there will be plenty to wear and carry, and you too can become one of the Strolling Stories! All children need to be accompanied by an adult.
