Caldmore Village Festival Group (CVFG) is seeking to appoint a dynamic Community Development Worker. This is a fantastic opportunity to join CVFG at an exciting time. You will be a motivated self starter who is able to use initiative and have a flexible approach to community engagement.

Key roles include:

  • Promote and sustain the work of Caldmore Community Garden and House (CCGH) through identification of funding opportunities, writing of bids, delivery of projects and events.
  • Ensure that CCGH responds to the needs of the community
  • Develop strong links with community, faith and business groups along with other key partners and with the local authority
  • Raise the profile of CCGH

You will:

  • Have previous experience in a challenging community orientated role.
  • Manage staff and workers in relation to projects
  • Have flexible working
  • Report to CVFG Management Committee

Cultures of Walsall


Cultures of Walsall is a spectacular festival promoted by Caldmore Village Festival Group to celebrate Walsall’s diverse heritage.

The festival incorporates a fusion of music, dance, food and cultural activities from many of the Borough’s communities. It is a family-friendly event that includes a children’s funfair as well arts and craft activities throughout the day. Sports tournaments in cricket and football will take place to ensure there is something to suit all tastes and interests.

There is a special competition for all of the family based on discovering the different cultures of Walsall with a prize draw at 3.45pm.

Entry to the site and stage area as well as to the community tents and activities is absolutely free.

The festival this year incorporates the Caldmore Carnival Procession. If you would like to join the Carnival’s colourful parade as it makes it way through Caldmore and Palfrey on the way to the Festival site please come and join the carnival crew in Caldmore Community Garden in Carless street in Caldmore, WS1 3RH at 2.30pm. Joining in is free and everyone is welcome but children should be accompanied by adults. Come as you are, in your national dress, in carnival costume or even dressed up as you favorite character.

The Carnival procession will arrive in the park at 3.30.

II Polish Picnic in Walsall

Come and join us at an event celebrating  Polish culture and heritage in Walsall.

The second Polish Picnic in Walsall will take place on Saturday 21st May in Caldmore Community Garden. It is organised by European Welfare Association – Polish School in Walsall, Caldmore Village Festival Group and whg.

There will be plenty of activities for families, games and competitions for children, exhibitions and music performances. DJ Marshal will play at 3pm, followed by a celebrated blues rock band Whisky as the highlight of the day.

Students of Polish School in Walsall will present their talents in Poland’s Got Talent competition and exhibit their works in Family Gallery of Art. Walsall Modern Ju-Jitsu Club will show martial arts techniques learnt by their adepts.

Caldmore Community Garden is a space for all communities of Walsall where they can grow their own fruit and veg, and take part in activities and events bringing together diverse cultures of Caldmore. The second Polish Picnic in Walsall aims to share Polish cultural traditions, delicious food and fantastic music with the wider community.

Come and celebrate with us one of the cultures that form the multicultural tapestry of Walsall.

The Picnic is held under the auspices of Polish Embassy in London and Federation of Poles in the United Kingdom. It is organised in partnership with Walsall Council, whg and Caldmore Village Festival Group, and sponsored by “Mazowsze” bakery and “Polskie Lany”.

The Grand Opening of Caldmore Community House

After a lot of hard work on behalf of volunteers and local companies and organisations, the Community House in Caldmore Community Garden is finally ready to launch!

 

Come and join us for the Grand Opening on Saturday 2nd April at 12.30pm. 

 

There will be a concert of Good Traditions, guided tours of the House at 1.30 and 3pm, arts and crafts, garden activities for children, free bouncy castle and pizzas made in our own earth oven.

 

Everyone is welcome.

Spring Open Day in the Garden – this Saturday, 12-4pm

Spring Open Day
Caldmore Community Garden is getting ready for the growing season! Come and join us for our Spring Open Day this Saturday, 12th March, 12-4pm. 
Activities will include  Easter Egg Hunt at 1pm, sowing a wild flower meadow, planting hanging baskets, looking for signs of spring in the garden, as well as plenty of opportunities to help both for adults and for children.
There will be food and hot and cold drinks, so why don’t you come for lunch, too? See you on Saturday!
