LET’S CELEBRATE THE CULTURES OF WALSALL!

Cultures of Walsall is a spectacular fusion of music, dance, food and cultural activities from many of the Borough’s communities. English, Pakistani, Indian, Caribbean, Afghan, Polish, Bangladeshi, Czech, West African, Somali and Slovakian are just some of the cultures that will be represented. It is a family-friendly event that includes a music stage featuring live music from many of the cultures of Walsall, a children’s funfair featuring rides and stalls as well arts and crafts and a host of food stalls featuring tastes from all over the world. There will be a range of sports activities for the whole family including Tai Chi, Zumba and guided bicycle rides as well as the more conventional sports such as cricket and football.
Entry to the site and stage area as well as the community tents and activities is absolutely free!
The festival this year incorporates the Caldmore and Palfrey Carnival Procession. If you would like to join the Carnival’s colourful parade as it makes it way through Caldmore and Palfrey all you have to do is come and join the carnival crew on the day and help to put the finishing touches to the costumes and colourful windsocks. Carnival workshops will take place from 12.00pm until 3pm. And the procession sets out at 3.15pm returning approximately an hour later.
Joining in is free and everyone is welcome but children should be accompanied by adults. Come as you are, in your national dress, carnival costume or even dressed up as you favourite character
There will be a tented village area featuring activities hosted by many of the communities in Walsall. Including arts and crafts, children’s entertainment and our special competition, a Passport to Walsall’s Cultures.
So there will be lots to do and lots to keep you entertained.
