One Hundred Voices

2 Apr

28 – 30 May 2011 @ Caldmore Village Festival

Caldmore is an area of Walsall with its own unique heritage. Over the May bank holiday weekend Caldmore Village Festival will be celebrating the multi-cultural diversity of Caldmore and its people using song and dance. Last year’s event was a big success and 2011 will be even bigger and better!

This year we are creating a combined performance of more than a hundred voices drawing on people from local choirs. If you are members of a choir and would like to get involved then we would like to hear from you. The organisers will be looking to build a performance around gospel music, you would need to have basic knowledge of performance and be available to rehearse during evenings leading up to the festival. The performance will be staged early evening on Sunday 29th May.

To register interest or to get further information please contact Eric telephone 07903 403057 or email ericfrankham@hotmail.co.uk.

Festival Launch Party – what a great night!

11 Feb

This slideshow requires JavaScript.

What an absolutely cracking launch to this year’s Caldmore Village Festival. The Bath Street Centre hosted our launch party to a ram-packed sell out crowd – next year we may have to sell ‘standing only’ tickets!!!

The evening kicked off with the traditional ‘loading of the plates’ buffest style followed by a fantastic performance by Caldmores own Bath Street Band. The rest of the evening continued onwards and upwards with further outstanding musical performances by Malik Raof and Malik Razak, Dean Janjua, and Snooty Bobs. With dancing from S and J Stars Dance school and stand up from Dave Shakespeare plus more ‘loading of the plates’ the evening proved to be a feast for the senses.

What a fantastic atmosphere – and a fantastic start to the year!

If you like what you see and would like to find out more or get involved in this years festival let us know by responding to this post and we will get back to you. Otherwise just subscribe to the blog for regular updates. Or why don’t you come along to the Caldmore Community Clean Up on Saturday 12th February for more information… Click Here!  (you get a scrummy lunch on the house)
